Rakovets’ is a village near L’viv which is known for its healing spring. Many years ago the Virgin Mary appeared at this site and from that time on many people from town and from the surrounding areas visit the spring to pray and bathe their feet in its water.
A forest surrounds the spring ensuring plenty of fresh air. Visitors come in hopes of being healed or simply to relax. There are slightly more than 200 individuals living in Rakovets’. They often organize bazaars where visitors can buy honey; their largest event, the international folklore festival Bells of Rakovets’, is held in the middle of August.
Clients of Caritas L’viv UGCC’s Children’s Social Centre recently visited this magical place.
