From 2-11 August Caritas Kyiv took a second group of children from disadvantaged families to summer camp. Thus the end of summer served as a relaxing time during which they could renew their energy for the coming school year.
This year camp was held in the village of Zarichchya, Hadvirnyans’kyy District, Ivano-Frankivs’k Region. Campers and staff say that camp will be remembered for the wonderful experiences they had in the mountains and on the river Prut, the sporting events, games and most importantly, for the informal evening talks near the bonfire at night. As last year, trips to Yaremche, a waterfall and souvenir market were included.
For the first time this year campers went on an overnight hike, spending the night in tents. A special educational program, developed by the foundation’s psychologists, was used during the camp.
