Why this matters now
Winter during wartime is a real challenge.
In many settlements of Kherson Oblast:
Cold inside a home is not just discomfort. It poses health risks, causes stress for children and elderly people, and renders it impossible to cook properly. Indoor temperatures can drop to +5°C.
Our goal
To raise 2,240,000 UAH (€46,450) to purchase solid fuel (firewood) for 150 households in Kherson Oblast, who—because of the war—cannot secure heating for the winter on their own.
Distribution will be carried out by Caritas Beryslav.

Alina’s story
“Warmth to me means family, children, hugs,” says Alina Salamatova as she lights the stove.
She and her husband have fled the war twice, starting their lives over each time. After relocating to Khmelnytskyi region, they were left with nothing—no belongings, no home, with a newborn in their arms.
“They helped us with everything—from food to a crib for the baby. And even with firewood to heat the house. That saved us. Now the house is warm, the children aren’t freezing, and we believe again that we can live.”
