Work Abroad: New Possibilities or Risks for Being Deceived?

12.07.2012, Ukraine
Getting a job in Poland is a great opportunity for millions of Ukrainians to earn some money and gain experience living and working in the European Union. However, often our fellow countrymen get discouraged when the promised jobs and salaries fall short of what was promised.

Recently married Andriy and Olena wanted to earn some quick, easy money; they approached an employment agency to get jobs abroad. They were offered factory work, making kitchen appliances in Krakow. Olena was to remove items from the production line and package them; the husband was to maintain the machinery. They were promised over $1000 a month for an 8 hour work day. Additionally the employment agency promised them comfortable living conditions close to the factory.
