Recently round-table on”Peculiarities of communication between challenged youth and school and university youngsters” was held in the premises of Stryi Eparchy Diocesan Administration of Ukrainian Greek and Catholic Church. Representatives of local authorities, city department of education, school teachers and senior students, professors and students of high education establishments, representatives of clergy participated in the event.
It was organized by Centre for Social Adaptation and Rehabilitation for the Disabled that operates on the basis of local Caritas. This Center has been implementing its activities for over four years in the frames of national project “Network of centers for social integration for the disabled in Ukraine”. Nearly twenty people, youngsters and their families, receive care. In general, Caritas Ukraine project is being carried out in four cities and seizes approximately hundred challenged individuals.
The importance and benefits of communication between the youth and challenged individuals was the leading point for discussion at the round-table.
