Pre-school institution Street Children Crisis Center was founded in 1999. This project targets pre-school aged children in crisis families; there are 25-30 children participating in the project at the moment. Acute problem of children abandonment and imperfect state system of care and solicitude were prerequisites for creation of the Center. Over 2000 children and more than 1000 families received assistance for its period of work.
Social Center of Caritas Lviv provides 24 hour care, nutrition four times a day, clothing, footwear, and medical care. Moreover, children from crisis families stay in decent everyday conditions. Qualified social workers, teachers and psychologists are working with them. Leisure of youngsters is directed at physical, cultural and spiritual development. In addition, constant activities with parents, foster parents and families are being held.
