There is a pleasant excitement in Caritas Ivano-Frankivsk. Social workers hardly manage to unload all necessary garden equipment for training, while physically challenged youngsters can’t wait to choose gloves, overalls, to take in hand trim tab or grass-mower. They look at equipment with great curiosity and ask social workers about its purpose. Group of youngsters from Center for leisure and social integration of youth with mental disabilities hurries to turn into real gardeners.
Five clients of Caritas Ivano-Frankivsk UGCC have already started training in order to master theoretical knowledge and practical skills of gardener’s work. Under the guiding of Caritas social workers people with disabilities acquire nuances of room plants and flowerbeds nurturing, obtain skills of land preparation for flower gardens and grass lawns arrangement. For this reason Caritas purchased garden equipment and material supplies, overalls and shoes, seeds of flowers and evergreen bushes. Such activities marked the launch of “Our future in your hands” educational project.
