09.03.12
“On the first day of spring, 1 March, which was during the first week of Lent the Bishop Bohdan Dzyurakh, Chancellor of the Patriarchal Curia of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, visited Caritas Kyiv. He met the children and spent some quality time with them; he also saw how the organization operates,” reported Fr. Roman Syrotych, Director of Caritas Kyiv.

Street children and children from disadvantaged families met with the Bishop at Caritas Kyiv. He spoke with them and attended an Easter basket workshop with them. The workshop was organized by Mr. Volodymyr and Ms. Inna guests who arrived at Caritas with the Bishop. It will be held on a weekly basis.

“In their eyes I see light and happiness; they’re interesting, and want to participate in various activities, regardless of the problems that touch their lives, their worries, what they have, and their challenges. They are God’s children who need our supervision and sympathy; this would give them hope for their future.

We should all show kindness to the disadvantaged; I invite everyone to do this. I am happy that I was able to spend time with them today,” said Bishop Bohdan when he summarized his visit to Caritas.

Fr. Roman Syrotych, Director of Caritas Kyiv sincerely thanked the Bishop for his visit, for keeping them in his thoughts, and for helping those in need. He emphasized “Thanks to You and Your initiative Caritas and our Church is doing many good things for the needy. I believe that together we will change our society for the better.”
