On January, 23d panel discussion on new tendencies of European philanthropy was organized in the frames of common program BlagoLAB initiated by Ukrainian Philanthropists Forum and Foundation for Development of Ukraine. Among discussion participants were representatives of Associations of Foundations from Netherlands, France and Spain; and one of guests from Ukrainian experts was Andriy Vaskovych, President of Caritas Ukraine.
Rosa Gallego, Head of Donors and Foundation Networks in Europe (DAFNE), opened the first session of panel discussion. The key thesis of her speech was based on importance of cooperation among European charity organizations for being competitive in philanthropy sector. “Philanthropy is sphere that involves work of one million individuals, it is sphere with one billion Euros of financial support,” underlined Mrs. Gallego. “That’s why its efficiency in activities implementation is impossible without well-established cooperation.”
