Annual initiative 16 Days against Violence has been recently held in Novovolynsk (Volynska oblast). It was aimed to attract attention of the public to combating family violence and abusive treatment of children. These are arising problems for Ukrainian society. The initiative was implemented by local authorities, while Caritas Volyn became its co-organizer.
Thematically-related conferences were held in secondary schools of the city by local Caritas stuff of the project Social and psychological support for children of labor migrants and volunteers of social center. Problems of family violence, development of gender culture in society to prevent violence in any of its manifestations, informing about bodies and institutions to address in case of violence were on the meetings’ agenda.
