The continuity of “friends” and developing this project was the main goal of a two day seminar called It Takes Two that was held recently at the Ivano-Frankivs’k Caritas. The seminar is part of a series of events aimed at ensuring continuity in the Friends Project which was launched in June of this year thanks to financial support from the Cooperating Netherlands Foundations for Central and Eastern Europe, SCANfund and the Carpathian Foundation (Foundation for Developing the Carpathian Euro-region) as part of the Friends Program: It Takes Two: Help Another—Become a Friend.

“It is easy and difficult to be a friend,” notes Nataliya Kozakevych, Executive Director of Caritas Ivano-Frankivs’k UGCC. “It’s simple because you just need to be there. A friend is someone our clients can trust, a person who will listen to them, will hang out with them, and go to the movies of to a caf?. The friend however needs to be professional, patient, tactful and most importantly to play this role for a long time.
